Welcome to Camel Sailing and Powerboat Centre
The new home for sailing and powerboat tuition at Rock, Cornwall. Situated on the dinghy park in Rock, the centre offers a prime location from which to teach and learn sailing and powerboating. The Camel Estuary provides an amazing setting to get out on the water with Padstow and Rock either side with long sandy beaches stretching out to the mouth of the estuary. It offers an enjoyable and safe environment with the added challenges of being tidal.
Located at Rock’s pontoon, just 6 miles from Wadebridge, or a 10 minute ferry ride across the river from Padstow, we welcome beginners and experienced sailors of all ages. We do everything we can to ensure a visit to Camel Sailing and Powerboat Centre is one of the highlights of your holiday, providing a great memory of an exciting experience in a beautiful location. Whether it is sailing or powerboating that takes your fancy we aim to provide the highest level of training.
We have a wide range of boats to suit all tastes and abilities, starting with Laser Picos (ideal for youngsters learning) and RS Fevas (fashionable first racing dinghies favoured by teenagers). We have classic Wayfarer dinghies, exhilarating Hobie Catamarans and high performance racers like the 420's and Laser 2000.
If you are already a competent sailor and have your own boat, you might want to consider hiring one of our instructors to regain confidence/ local knowledge, polish your racing skills or as crew for one of the many local races organised throughout the year by the local sailing club, the larger events being Camel Week in August and Junior Camel Week in July.
